Description: The St. Joe Dam, located on the St. Joseph River in Fort Wayne, includes four tainter gates to allow the river to be raised and lowered as needed. One of these tainter gates was in dire need of replacement. Ottenweller Contracting, with our extensive experience in hydraulic theory and application, was honored to be awarded this contract. Since the size of the St. Joe Dam (and tainter gate) is unique, we fabricated, assembled, and painted the tainter gate ourselves. Our installation of this new tainter gate allowed the St. Joseph River to be controlled precisely in time for the changing season.
