Description: The City of Fort Wayne commissioned the Riparian Master Plan as a portion of the Riverfront Master Planning process. This process allowed for many improvements to reduce erosion including introducing powerful root systems from invasive plants (called riparian buffers). These invasive plants also help to shade and protect the water from being affected by the adjacent land. Ottenweller Contracting was awarded the contract to repair the existing bank by selective site demolition, earthwork, erosion control, installation of boulder toe, live branching, shrub planting, tree planting, and seeding.
